And now for my third wedding invitation suite for 2010! This one was also for a cousin getting married this summer. Her colors are purple, turquoise and black and her flowers are going to be orchids. The simple, but elegant orchids liven up the the edges of classic cream paper. I think it’s a really nice mix of modern and traditional design and I’m very happy to showcase this one in my portfolio!

Thursday, May 6th, 2010Greek Chic Wedding Suite
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce my latest wedding invitation creation. This was done for my cousin. I originally presented the idea of doing a simple Greek key design (since she is Greek) along the side in light blue. She then came back and told me she liked the Greek key, but was thinking green and maybe something with vines. I wasn’t sure how to marry these ideas, but this is what I came up with: little delicate leaves growing off the Greek key. It was fun to design this specific to my cousin’s personality and pay homage to her culture.
2010 weddings in progress
Thursday, February 25th, 2010I’m currently busy working on two more wedding invitation suites, which I’m very excited about. To be fair I’m going to wait until the invitations are in the mail to post the final pictures. Both the brides are family and I want the invitations to be a surprise for people receiving them. But here are two teasers:
Cherry blossom romance
Thursday, December 3rd, 2009I designed another wedding invitation suite that I’m very happy with! This one was for a friend from college on the east coast. She requested a design with cherry blossoms and pink and brown to go with her color scheme. I was very excited to hear that she wanted something with cherry blossoms, I love them! So I hand painted the flower branch in watercolors, then scanned it and fit it into the design. I like adding a little detail from the design to go next to the return address on the envelopes. It makes it more special for the person receiving it. (actual names and addresses have been changed)
first post
Friday, November 13th, 2009Well I officially have my own blog now and I’m kind of excited about it! I have a lot of updates to make, but the first new thing I added was my friend Erin’s wedding invitations I designed for her February 2009 wedding. She’s also the author of blogs, renegade soiree and holy matrimony!. She wanted an Art Deco inspired design that also incorporated her flowers, orchids. It’s always a pleasure to design for a friend who has great design sense!
Of course all names and addresses are changed.
